Mechanism of Action:

The HER2 receptor, a protein that is overexpressed in some breast tumors, is the target of pertuzumab. Whereas trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that attaches itself to the HER2 receptor's extracellular domain (Subdomain IV), causing it to be downregulated and destroyed.
