Romiplostim is an agonist of the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor that promotes platelet formation. By binding to bone marrow cells' (megakaryocytes') TPO receptors, it increases platelet synthesis and aids in the treatment of disorders linked to low platelet counts.

How to use this medication?
Romiplostim injection is a powder that a doctor or nurse can mix with liquid and administer subcutaneously, or beneath the skin, in a medical office. Usually, it is administered once every seven days.
