Mechanism of Action:

As a GnRH antagonist, degarelix functions by directly inhibiting the pituitary gland's GnRH receptors. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) rapidly decline as a result, which in turn reduces the testes' ability to produce testosterone. This decrease can aid in slowing or halting the growth of prostate cancer as these cells need testosterone to proliferate.

Dosage and Administration:

Deghor 80 Injection is administered subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdominal area. On the first day of treatment, a loading dosage of 240 mg is typically administered in two injections of 120 mg each.

How to use this Medication?
