Pimcef 1gm Injection contains Cefepime, a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Cefepime causes bacterial cell death by preventing the formation of bacterial cell walls. Both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, even those resistant to other cephalosporins, can be effectively combatted by it.

Mechanism of Action:

A beta-lactam antibiotic that attacks bacterial cell walls is cefepime. Numerous Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as certain resistant species, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacteriaceae, are included in its wide range of activity. It works better against bacteria that are resistant to other cephalosporins since it is stable against the majority of beta-lactamases.

How to use this medication?

Cefepime injection is available as a premixed medication that may be injected intravenously (into a vein) over a 30-minute period or as a powder that can be combined with fluids. It is also possible to administer cefepime injection intramuscularly. For seven to ten days, it is typically administered every eight or twelve hours.

Cefepime can be injected into your body in a hospital or administered at home. Your healthcare practitioner will demonstrate how to administer cefepime injection if you will be receiving it at home.
