Daunotec 20mg Injection contains Daunorubicin, an anthracycline-type chemotherapy medication, is used to treat specific types of malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphocytic leukemia.

Composition: Daunorubicin

Mechanism of Action:

Inhibiting the topoisomerase II enzyme and intercalating between DNA base pairs, daunorubicin stops transcription and DNA replication. Additionally, it produces free radicals, which further harm cellular membranes and DNA, ultimately resulting in cell death, particularly in cancer cells that divide quickly.

Uses:

·       Acute Myeloid Leukemia

·       Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

·       Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

·       Other hematologic malignancies

Dosage and Administration:

Once daily on Days 1–3 or 5 of the chemotherapeutic cycle, 30–60 mg/m² IV. Due to the possibility of severe toxicity, it must only be administered in specific situations.

How to use this Medication?
