Kaviox 500mg Injection contains Avibactam, is an antibiotic injection is used to treat serious bacterial infections of the stomach, urinary system and lungs. It can be used to treat a variety of illnesses in both adults and children, either by itself or in combination with other antibiotics like Ceftazidime.

Composition: Avibactam

Mechanism of Action:

Certain β-lactam antibiotics are shielded from enzymatic breakdown by the non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor avibactam. It functions by reversibly attaching itself to the serine residue in the active site of β-lactamases, especially those that are class A (KPC carbapenemases), class C (AmpC enzymes), and some class D enzymes (OXA-48). Avibactam restores and strengthens the antibacterial action of antibiotics like ceftazidime against resistant Gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting these enzymes, which stops the hydrolysis of these drugs.

·         Urinary tract infections

·         Intra-abdominal infections

·         Hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia.

Dosage and Administration:
